GK Energy is targeting one million installed systems and a billion-dollar enterprise by 2030, installed more than 140,000 decentralized renewable energy systems

The Electrical Post

GK Energy stands among India's leading decentralized renewable energy infrastructure companies, with a focus on solar-powered agricultural pumping systems, rooftop solar systems, and distributed clean energy solutions.

Since its founding in 2008, the Company has built a technology driven business model powered by flexible sourcing strategies with an extensive OEM/ODM manufacturing ecosystem, decentralized logistics capabilities, and one of the sector's largest field execution networks. This architecture allows GK Energy to deploy renewable energy systems at scale across rural and distributed markets without the burden of heavy manufacturing capital.

To date, the Company has installed more than 140,000 decentralized renewable energy systems and commissioned over 617 MW of capacity nationwide, with an operational footprint extending across more than 7,500 villages. This execution capacity is underpinned by an extensive network of trained installation and commissioning partners and supported by dedicated warehousing and logistics infrastructure spread across multiple states.

Financial Performance

The financial performance of GK Energy during the year reflects the strength of its execution-led, low-capex approach. Standalone revenue from operations grew 40% year-on-year to ₹15,325 million, while Profit After Tax rose 51.1% to ₹2,013 million, with EBITDA margins improving to 20.44%. Equally significant was the transformation of the balance sheet: supported by IPO proceeds, your Company moved to a net cash surplus position of ₹2,406 million, a marked improvement from the previous year. This financial discipline, paired with strong operating performance, provides your Company the flexibility to pursue growth while maintaining capital efficiency.

Operational Performance

Operationally, FY 2025-26 was a year of significant scale for GK. During the year, Company deployed 61,085 decentralized renewable energy systems, primarily solar-powered agricultural pumping systems and rooftop solar installations, and commissioned 276 MW of renewable energy capacity. Cumulatively, your Company has now installed more than 140,000 renewable energy systems and commissioned over 617 MW of capacity across India, reaching more than 7,500 villages through one of the sector's largest decentralized field execution networks, comprising over 1,300 skilled and committed professionals, technicians and dedicated installation and commissioning partners, supported by decentralized logistics and warehousing infrastructure.

“A key differentiator for your Company lies in its operating architecture. Your Company has built a scalable, execution-focused Business Model that combines supply-chain integration, decentralized warehousing, logistics infrastructure, and longstanding rural market penetration through a technology-defined, business model supported by flexible sourcing strategies with an extensive OEM/ ODM manufacturing ecosystem. This enables your Company to scale rapidly with relatively lower fixed capital intensity, while maintaining the operational flexibility to expand across multiple renewable energy categories, from solar agricultural pumping systems to rooftop solar, distributed renewable infrastructure, and emerging segments such as BESS and hybrid energy.” GOPAL RAJARAM KABRA, Chairman & Managing Director of GK Energy Limited, stated in the annual report for FY 25-26.

India's renewable energy transition is increasingly moving towards decentralized and distributed infrastructure, particularly across agriculture and rural energy markets. We believe execution capability, rural penetration, and scalable deployment infrastructure will become the key differentiators in this sector over the long term, and your Company is well-positioned on all three fronts. Continued alignment with national programmes keeps your Company closely connected to the policy momentum driving India's clean energy adoption.

Mr. Kabra said, Looking ahead, your Company's vision remains rooted in the objective to build India's most trusted renewable energy brand, targeting one million installed systems and a billion-dollar enterprise by 2030. This is an ambitious goal, grounded in the execution discipline, rural trust, and capital efficiency your Company has demonstrated over nearly two decades.
